 | 2/13/2021 | Birding in your Backyard: #BirdTheFeckAtHome Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM In March 2020 Ed Williams of Melbourne, Australia coped with Covid lockdown by creating a Facebook group called #BirdTheFeckAtHome, whose goal was to bring the international birding community together by seeing how many species of birds could be seen from people’s backyards. By the end of November, the group had over 7000 members from around the world and had collectively spotted over 4,600 species—or about 40% of the world’s approximately 10,770 bird species. In addition to that amazing feat, Ed has created a welcoming, harmonious, fun loving page that has connected people of all birding levels from all over the world.
