About Silicon Valley Reads
In 2003, Silicon Valley Reads was started as a traditional "one book, one community" program that selected a book and invited all residents to read it. Over the years, Silicon Valley Reads has evolved into a more ambitious endeavor that uses books reflecting a provocative theme relevant to the region to encourage people to read, think, discuss and engage. Now, events are offered throughout Santa Clara County for all age groups and thousands each year participate in formal events and/or read the book on their own, with their family or with book clubs.
Mission
To encourage individuals of all ages to read and discuss selected books as a way to engage the community and promote open dialogue about ideas and interests that are relevant to Silicon Valley.
Vision
The diverse Silicon Valley community will develop new perspectives and greater respect for one another through a deeper understanding of important issues and identified shared values.
Goals
